Well, it worked partially. From the 5 books, 3 came out ok, 1 smelled ok but the smell came back when I opened the book and the other one (the worst one) still smells. I'm going to given the 2 last ones another "bath".
well, first of all you've tried. second: you got some results. third, third is a suggestion: put in the bag one single book. cut from cardboard small rectangular pieces in such a way that when you fold them in half, you get 2 perpendicular squares. put the "squares" (not all perpendicular) between the pages (try every 20 pages) so the air inside the bag will "travel" through the book and see what happens. if the smell is strong, you might leave the book there longer, a week maybe but change the leaves half way through
it is a fantastic camera, i love it; if you search a bit though the archive, you will find photos taken with it. as a piece of technology it is very simple but works very good. all the german cameras that i own are very simple but offers impressive results
glad you like it! i didn't try it on anything else but if i think about it, what can go wrong? nothing. it might not work but won't do anymore damage either
I learnt something new! Thank you! A dry cleaning service for the camera.
such a simple solution
I'm guessing I can't use this solution on teenagers?
It is worth a try…
😂😂😂
Great tip! granny's advice always works best :)
Great advice! I learnt something new! Thanks!
it was new for me too and what makes it even better is that all the "ingredients" can be easily found in any supermarket
What a clever solution. Thank Granny for me. I'm going to try it on some smelly second hand books I bought.

Love the addition of the mint leaves. 💜
That looks like a fantastic old camera, and now smelling of mint too!!! The case reminds me of one my parents used to have back in the 1960s
