Today I will present … myself, perfectlight (blame
+ others for it). perfectlight (one word, no capital letter) is a photography blog that combines experiences with both digital and analogue mediums, some tips and advices and an industrial world less accessible to most people; a blog where image is everything.1. Why photography?
I believe that inside of each and single one of us there’s a beast called “creativity” that eats us from inside and screaming to get out. Photography is how I feed that beast and release it in the world. Also, photography is a way of seeing the world around me, a world otherwise hidden.
2. What is your favourite gear? (camera, lens)
Digital: Canon 1DX II with Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 lens
Analogue: Yashica Lynx-5000 which has a fixed Yashinon 45mm f/1.8 lens
3. What are your favourite subjects to photograph?
Digital: rugby
Analogue: it’s hard to tell as I don’t think I favour one over the other, I photograph whatever is in front of me. But I will never say “No” to reflections or trees.
4. Can you name a few of your favourite photographers?
Martin Parr – the best humor that is;
Josef Koudelka – the most thoughtful photography;
Adrian Capusan – a raw dissection of everyday life;
and my latest obsession: Japanese photographers (Rinko Kawauchi, Miyako Ishiuchi, Mikiko Hara, Yurie Nagashima).
5. What can Substack community expect from you/your publication in the future?
Along with my ordinary posts about photography and the industrial world, I hope with this new initiative to help the photographic community grow and also have more collaborations with Substack users.
Nice! It would have been good to know more about you also apart from your photography interests :)
I was thinking about the interview question earlier this morning - sending you my answers during the course of the day : )
