Some really funny shots. Noticing is a skill for sure.

The two religious ones are funny .. took a minute to notice the coffee jar and headless Jesus

thank you! noticing is everything 😁

You make the point well, noticing is a skill indeed!

I haven't read the book and I'm unlikely to do so. Noticing is, IMO, sort of the whole point when it comes to photography - or any art form. Noticing is the thing that helps separate the wheat from the chaff.

still a good book tho

Great set - a few of them made me laugh out loud. Do I get extra credit for “noticing” the self portrait on the last shot 😂

thank you and no 😂

IMO noticing is the whole point. The more you notice the more you photograph and the more you photograph it seems the more you notice. Once you start seeing you can’t unsee anything.

perfectlight's avatar

as i said "noticing is everything" but i don't photograph everything that i notice

Wise words, perfectlight. I noticed that in the last photo you cut your head off in the reflection so you can’t be recognized, continuing to maintain your mystery.

😂 it was unintentional

Maybe it was your subconscious at work 🤔

sometime back I wrote a review about this book . Truly loved it and found it helpful in my work as a photographer and writer

perfectlight's avatar

yes, it is a good book especially for people looking for inspiration

I agree, noticing is a skill anyone can develop. Making art from what you notice is a different skill set. You definitely have an eye for things others might not necessarily notice. Great captures!

The best part is the more we look the more we notice, and soon we are always looking.

perfectlight's avatar

i would say looking is better than ignoring

Good eye. And yes, noticing is definitely as skill or like a muscle that can be trained. The more you train it the better you get. These are definitely good and funny proof!

I see more of you in these photos than before…is that because they are somehow different or because I know you better since your interview…? Hmmmm… either way, they are very intelligently shot! Just me noticing! 😊🙃

thank you! noticing is everything 😊
