I always forget to play with reflective puddles in this way. Thanks for the reminder! A great subject with lots of possibilities! Good job!!

I love the everchanging miniature landscapes found in puddles - that sports pitch takes me back to the days when that was just a bit of 'surface water' and matches were more like mud baths!

perfectlight's avatar

that will always be the case for rugby! mud is the best friend for rugby players

These are really lovely, particularly this time of year, when it is rarely bright enough after the rain to get the really good reflections! Excellent!!

What's the story with that goal post that keeps popping up in your images?

perfectlight's avatar

there's a park close to where i live and has a few fotbal pitches. from photographic point of view, a goal post can offer lots of possibilities

Wonderful … love the different colours of the fallen leaves peeking out of puddles.

Lovely series of puddle pics, perfectlight. I especially like the last one. I think it would be kind of fun to play a game of footy on that pitch.

perfectlight's avatar

thank you! i agree, it would be fun for everyone

Beautiful reflections - I especially like the ones where the leaves are clearly visible beneath the water’s surface (such as #2).

I have mixed feelings about puddles on trails after a rain because hiking with my dog means that he will most likely need a bath when we get home 🤣

perfectlight's avatar

the benefits of that is to have lots of photos with a dog in all puddles 😁

Dear Perfectlight,

I love your synthetic way of showing and presenting beautiful things that we in general don't pay so much attention to. Puddles can give us a lot of interesting ideas to great photography. We just need to go and play with them.

By the way, you probably don't know this but at the end of your post there was and ad to go and listen on YouTube to the Credence Clearwater Revival song 'Have you ever seen the rain'.

I mean, great song and great group but have you done this yourself or was by any means the 'big brother' from Substack lurking at what we post and coming out with unasked suggestions? 😁😁

perfectlight's avatar

thank you for your kind words!

that link is put there by me, it is the music connection to the puddles 😉

Luz Mendes's avatar

Oh, ok! If it’s yours, that’s alright! 😊. You didn’t say nothing about it and Substack is doing strange things nowadays, so I was wondering… great song and great group as I said before and it fits your post perfectly! 👍🏻👍🏻

When I see toddlers stomping into the puddles, I urge to join them. We often treat them as inconveniences to jump over. Maybe next time I'll stomp like nobody's watching 😆

perfectlight's avatar

i encourage you do to that! 😉

Thank you, perfectlight. There is something magical about leaves floating in water as well as the reflection of trees in water. Great photos.
